The first letters in "Kappa Pi Sigma" stand for "Kings Point Sucks," Kings Point being the famed maritime academy, USMMA, located in Kings Point, NY. KPS as Kappa Pi Sigma is also refered to, can also stand for "Kings Point Spirit." While KPS is often what students feel during bad times at the Academy, it is the tying factor for all students, past and present. The brotherhood of KPS is something no other college in the world can make a claim to.
Kappa Pi Sigma is written in bars and common port areas all over the world. Most students, during their allotted time at sea (required by the school) will carve KPS somewhere they have been.

They are known for there lowkeyness on most campuses. Their parties are always a good time and you never really have to worry about someone slipping something in your drink. They are also known for getting notoriously high hence their other nickname Sigma Fried but you don’t have to be a stoner to get along with them. Overall a great group of guys to rush or hang with.
