A simple guy. He is usually quiet and serious but can suddenly turns into this chatty and friendly person. He understands how to act around different people, he takes other peoples thoughts into mind. One of the best guy, he's funny; reliable; trustworthy; caring etc. He's one of the funnest people to hang round with, whatever the weather. He is shy but also knows how to be extrovert if with a friend. He's also one of the greatest friends you can ever have, he can relate to things that you say, understands how to talk to someone depending there mood. He can be depressed at times but never show this side of him. People may think he’s weird but he doesn't care. He has a story that he’ll tell if you're trustworthy, You don't expect to need him to be in your life, but once he is, you realise how much you do need him and how much you never want to loose him, you couldn't loose him! Nathan is a pleasure to both guys and girls, he's can have a laugh, give advice, be blunt, you can talk with him about anything. When you see him you smile, either on the out or inside, or even both.

Even when his Olympic dream seemed to end from his problem-plagued skate in the men's short program the day before, Nathan performed an unprecedented 6 quad jumps in his free skate and launching himself from 17th place and almost winning a medal in the men's singles competition. For his final skate, Chen had planned five quads. Then he decided that he would try to spin around four times in the air during six jumps — and he pulled it off. "I have been working on it for a while," Chen said after his skate. "It's never really fully come together. I already fell so many times, I was like, 'I already fell so many times earlier in Pyeongchang, I might as well go out and throw everything down and see what happens.' " As Chen told NPR's Melissa Block, "Screw it. I have nothing to lose."
