Nogales a city and the county seat of the Municipality of Nogales. It is located on the northern border of the Mexican state of Sonora ....

And are separated by a big ugly brown

Nogales is Spanish: noˈɣales; Spanish for 'walnut trees.

The town is named for the black walnut trees which once grew abundantly in the mountain pass between the cities of Nogales, Arizona ( USA), and Nogales, Sonora ( MEX), and can still be found around the town.
