A person who foolishly spends excessive money on technology hoping to somehow become superior or cool because of said purchase even though superior lower cost technology exists.

Meloseria

Meloseria: is an old Spanish slang term used in some Latin American countries. It is a term that means the display of affection through words and cuddling (many times even using baby talk) which is so excessive that it loses its loving meaning, turning it into annoying the recipient of the affection displayed. Many times the words do not match the actions.

Meloseria is the action of someone who states he/she loves you all the time but does not show that love with actions.
