The act of establishing a precedent to advance the interest of a person or group and then ignoring that precedent when it does not benefit the individual or group that created the precedent.

The mayor mcconnelled us when he established the ban on strip clubs but got caught at a clothes optional bar in Florida.

To be screwed over by an individual or group, who insist that what is being done is for the good of everyone, despite clear evidence what is being done only advances their narrow cause. The person performing the action will omit relevant facts, and ignore anything that would contradict their direction to achieve their goal no matter the consequences.

"I'm sorry to hear you got fired so the boss could hire his deadbeat nephew, you really got mcconnelled !"
