Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is a Japanese anime based off of the doujin soft visual novel of the same name.
Set in June 1983 in the rural village of Hinamizawa; it has a population of approximately 2000. Keiichi Maebara moves there and makes many friends; Rena Ryuuguu, Mion Sonozaki, Rika Furude and Sotoko Houjou. Hinamizawa may seem like a peaceful and calm town, but not everything is as it seems. Every year, during the annual Watanagashi Festival, one person disappears, and the other is murdered. Keiichi soon becomes involved in this intricate mystery... and solving it will not be easy. He is constantly dogged by extreme paranoia and illusion. But even with these obstacles, the mystery slowly reveals itself.

- "The characters in Higurashi are so cute!"
- "Man, Higurashi scares the living crap out of me."
- "The music in Higurashi fits it really well."

Kagome Higurashi

Kagome Higurashi is a 15 year old Japanese schoolgirl. Her life consists of going to school and hearing legends from her crazy grandfather. She never believes these legends until one day she is pulled into a well in her family's shrine and she meets a centipede monster. The centipede monster wants the Shikon No Tama, or Sacred Jewel of Four Souls, from her. Kagome fights the demon and is transported into a village of Feudal Japan, or the Sengoku Jidai period. She there mets Priestess Kaede and then meets the hanyou, or half-demon, InuYasha, who is pinned to a tree with an enchanted arrow. She then meets the centipede demon and awakes InuYasha to battle it.Kagome realizes the Shikon No Tama is inside of her body and gets hurt by the centipede monster and it emerges from her body. She frees InuYasha and then he defeats the centipede youkai easily. Then InuYasha and Kagome are against each other as Kagome realizes that he isn't the hero. Then the Shikon No Tama is stolen by a Carrion crow and Kagome shoots it with a arrow with it's foot attached. The Shikon No Tama is then shattered into tiny pieces, hundreds... thousands.. who knows.. and then InuYasha and Kagome must now search for the shards. Kagome then is told by Priestess Kaede that she is a reincarnation of Kikyou, a great priestess. They meet many friends and enemies along the way.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.
