Handbone or Hand bone is an old new york slang used by mostly white Staten Islanders (mostly italians and irish) to describe black/African-American men. The origin of this slur is unknown.

Saw a buncha handbones walking on the boulevard.

I went to play handball, but it was all handbones in the school yard.
