dutting

An action where members of a marching band or drum corps, namely the battery(consisting of the snares, basses, tenors, and marching cymbals), will say the syllable "dut" to keep each other in time. Many drum corps and marching bands have all of the marchers dut when not playing in practice, but in performance it is usually only the battery that will be dutting.

1. "In sets twelve through fourteen, the battery has to keep dutting to make sure everyone stays together during the drum break."
2. "Dut, dut, dut, dut, dut..."

Special People. These people should walk around with bubble wrap and knee pads, and should use caution around doors and snowy roofs. Can, and will, make a huge fool of themselves daily and doesn't really care because that is their reason for being here. But all being said a Much nicer than most people deserve, and the best friend that anyone could ever have. Will do anything for you and will do it with a smile.
