A phrase often used by marching band/drum corps drummers to signal the last measure of resting before the line starts playing. Usually grouped based on the time signature of the piece being played.

Dut 

An exclamation meaning "Oh, that fucking sucks!" Originally derived from "that suuuuuuuucks" - a term used at Edina High School in 2002. But later it morphed into the elusive dut. Often, the dut is complete with a hand motion that includes pointing one arm outward while hitting the inner elbow of said arm with the other hand. A dut can be used on yourself (self-dut), others (dut), or a large group of people (duts all around).

Mark: Yo Niko, I totally got blue-balled by this chick.
Niko: That's a big dut!
Mark: Yeah, total self-dut.

dut 

pronounced "dutt"

when something is generally undesirable, dirty, ghetto or just plain crap.

alternatively, "tut" can be used as a precursor to dut (when something has not quite reached the point of being dut)

dick: hey jane, look at that guy eating out of the garbage!

jane: man, that is just plain DUT!

Dut can also be joined to words to explain just how dut something is. For example, dutstang, dutberry, kentucky fried dut, Los Angeldut etc...

When something is so much worse than disgusting that it is dut. It is a term of increasing popularity amongst the urban youth of London, rivalling that of dutty.

e.g. Eww James, why are you eating a green sandwich in a Maths lesson that is three days out of date? You're dut.

James, why are you bin-raiding, that's dut.
