An Australian term for a small amount of people at someones house to sit and chat while drinking, but without getting massively drunk. Usually on a weekend before going out or occasianly after work.

similar to a gathering but a more commonly used word.
After work, a few of us are having drinks at Mikes.

People who drink often don't drink to remember, they drink to forget. Even people who drink socially or to celebrate drink to forget, not to remember. Alchohol wouldn't be any fun to these folks if they remembered everything that happened the night before.
Drinks don't bring bring back memories, they erase them.

Drinks Globe Luxury 

Akin to Burled Wood Paneled Luxury, not quite as excessive as Personal Army Luxury, but much nicer than Fur Lined Lingerie Luxury.
As used (and probably coined) by Jeremy Clarkson on BBC Top Gear Season 15, Episode 1: "If you live in Cheshire and you have to travel great distances in Drinks Globe Luxury, the Bentley Continental GT really is in a class of one."
