Dreampunk

A subgenre that focuses on dreams that have the power to affect reality. The main elements that Dreampunk illustrates are mind bending events, psionic technology, various states of consciousness, brainpower, psychological anomalies, and esotericism. A Dreampunk story could take place in a universe where dreams manifest into reality. It can also take place in a story where those with superior psionic abilities subjugate the world under an inescapable nightmare. In other stories, it could be a world ruled by the imagination, or even take place in a world where you can dive into the unconscious realm of the mind, opening the gate to a brand new world.

Some examples of dreampunk would be Alice in wonderland, Inception, The Coma, and Paprika.

It could also take place in a universe where you can dive into the unconscious realm of the mind, opening the gate to a brand new world.

Some examples of dreampunk would be Alice in wonderland, Inception, The Coma, the lathe of heaven, and paprika.
