Once someone are hooked there is no hope of them becoming a normal person again. It's common for people addicted to the substance to believe the factories they build resemble spaghetti thus making their mind forget that they have to acheive food by doing stuff irl. Another common side effect of the game is for the victim's wife and kids to leave them thus giving them more time to play Cracktorio and worsening the vicious cycle.
