To feel afraid or cautious to make new friends, often in fear of betrayal.

Compaution most frequently is brought up due to personal baggage, and previous acts of betrayal by close friends. It often creeps up in adulthood due to the fleeting friends in the between stages of graduation and a new livelihood.
