The opposite of a "Hot Take". A "Cold Take" is an opinion that one offers only after careful examination of the facts of the subject at hand.
After the tabloids had spewed forth all of the eye catching hot takes, the more well respected news outlets responded with a well researched and thoughtful cold take on the story.

This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
