What happens when a beloved product gets 'optimised' for reduced manufacturing costs and the resulting product sucks. Everything that made it special, has been destroyed for maximum scalability and enhanced profit. This is what happened to Cadbury's Chocolate. Kraft bought them out and turned a once trusted brand with a delicious product into a sugar a palm oil bar with zero uniqueness or product identity.
"Great job in getting a distribution deal on your book+CD boxset, but make sure you avoid the Cadburyfication of its uniqueness. Before you know it, it will have all of its interest and value flattened into generic 'content' for streaming by the publisher.
