A British crumpet. A thick, flat savory cake with soft porous texture. It looks like a sponge and you put butter on it.

I had too many pints at the pub last night, so I need all the butter sponges this morning.

A person who is being excessively negative and/or bitter about anything and everything.

Person A: "Man, I hate going to movies. I hate going to clubs too. I just hate being with a lot of people. It's so annoying. I just hate everything."
