Short for "involuntary celibate"

A person who is not in a relationship nor has had sex in a significant amount of time, despite numerous attempts.

Similar to Robots incels are often misogynistic and feel lonely because of their lack of sexual/romantic experience.

However, while there is an overlap between Robots and incels the difference is that incels are completely sex/gf obsessed and make that apart of their identity.

While Robots complain about their lack of sexual/romantic experience but also focus on other things and you don't have to be a virgin to be an incel whereas all Robots are virgins with no gfs.

Elliot Rodger is an incel.

Abbreviated term for the compound 'Involuntary Celibate'. In Darwinian terms a person deemed 'least fit to reproduce', manifested in social terms as someone unable to copulate due to the absence of even a single willing partner. More typically male than female. Hangs around on internet forums generally blaming females for this undesirable condition. Unable to compete on the level playing field of sexual equality can be seen clamouring for a return to the middle ages where all that was needed to nab a woman was two cows and a quarter acre. Could be considered a 'Darwinian loser' whose gene pool is facing extinction unless they address negative personality traits and/or get into physical condition necessary for attraction to opposite sex.

Woman: He's nice enough but he identifies as one of those incels.

Friend: Stay away from him. That's akin to announcing oneself as an unreformable loser.

1 (formal and not opinionated) - An internet subculture. The word incel, stands for “involuntarily celibate”, meaning that they feel they are unable to find or be in a romantic or sexual relationship with someone due to reasons that are out of their control. They often talk together on forums on 4chan, reddit, or other incel forums that can be found on specific sites for incels. They typically have a history of loneliness and poor mental health.

2 (opinionated) - Incels are a community online who seem to have large issues with the world around them, unable to cope with the rejection they receive, blaming the world around them for their misfortune/poor mental health. Most of the things they say surround stereotypes or opinions, fuelling each other's rage. They blame women, other men, and pretty much anyone for their unsuccessful attempts at finding love or sex or their plain loneliness or social issues. Although it’s unfortunate, i don’t have a lot of empathy for people filled with so much rage for the world around them. They’re stubborn and stand by their opinions about the world around them. I personally believe that these are not just lonely men, these are genuinely horrible people who choose to blame the world for their issues. they’re insecure, gross, and overall terrifying people. If you’re an incel, i recommend getting some help and working on yourself instead of sulking on your little forums blaming everyone for your shit.
