The first recoil-rechambering machinegun, which saw use by the British in their bloody quest to exploit and control Africa in ye olden times. It was fed by a magazine on top (using gravity to load the next round in after each shot). Notorious for its barrel, which was enclosed in a large metal tube filled with water to keep it cool.
Rarely, but sometimes used as a instigation towards blacks, due to the devastation it caused against the native Africans in the English's Africa campaigns.
Just as pistols are sometimes nowadays refered to as 'Gats' (from the Gatling Gun - another classic machinegun), modern automatic weapons are are sometimes refered to as 'Maxims.' A Maxim cannot mean a pistol, shotgun etc., and is strictly used for machine guns.

Get the Maxim Gunmug. A ritualistic dance of victory, made by waving both hands in a pistol-like formation in the air. Typically, the "Double Guns" begins with random simulated gun motions in both arms in many directions, sychronizing slowly as the arms raise. Once the arms are fully extended over the head, fully synchronized simulated pistols shots are sent into the air repeatedly. Ideally the rhythm for this dance is that of typical urban music.
Urban youth 1: "Yo, your flex on that honey was ill."

Get the stun gunmug. Son of a gun is an exclamation or a noun in American and British English. Apollo 12 Astronaut Pete Conrad said, upon seeing the Surveyor 3 just prior to touching down on the Moon: "Hey, there it is! There it is! Son of a gun, right down the middle of the road!". It can be used encouragingly or to compliment, as in "You son of a gun , you did it!"

Get the son of a gunmug. Actual name: Thompson submachine gun. It is a .45 caliber weapon firing at about 600-900 rounds per minute. The normal size for the ammo in WWII was a 230 grain bullet. These were just plain full metal jacket bullets, not hollow points. You couold get a wide variety of magazines/drums for your thompson: You could get 20 or 30 rounds stick magazines, and you could also get 50, 75, or 100 round drums. Many poeople loved these drums even though they made the Thompson about 7 pounds heavier, for a grand total of almost 17 pounds. To just look at the weapon, you wouldn't think it could weight that much, but it's just a big chunk of steal. This also helped with recoil.
