Brain Drainer

A story that makes your head explode because it could have been over in about five minutes if one or more of the character(s) didn't have an IQ below room temperature.

It can also be caused when a character who is presented as being quite smart does something uncharacteristically stupid, and everything goes downhill from there.

Despite their legendary status, Shakespeare's plays are notorious for being massive brain drainers.

One example is Romeo and Juliet, which could have been over very quickly with no deaths if the two families just communicated with each other.

Another example is Julius Caesar, which would have ended after the death of Caesar if Brutus didn't decide to save Mark Antony because "he can't think for himself," and they didn't want people thinking they were terrorists. Long story short, he eventually found out that was a bad move when Antony suddenly dropped the façade and revealed that he is much more intelligent and independent than he seems.

Money Drain Patrol

Not to be confused with "Money Drain" (an incompetent woman shopping for their one planned item, but leaving with 10+ items continuously), nor used independently or by pairing the former duo with "Patrol" (which is snatching pencils from nerds), "the" Money Drain Patrol are large groups of workers that are tied to any organization where the primary objective of said organisation is to take people's money via "anti-services" (definition pending), without the use of compassion, common sense or discretion.

Such organisations include, but are not limited to, City Council Groups, Airports and Taxi Companies.

"I had to pay $200 for my oversized bag, guess who? None other than the Money Drain Patrol, standing there smiling, delighted to shit over my day and empty my pockets over one centimeter"

"Getting a taxi is such an anti-service, just another excuse for the Money Drain Patrol to earn a dishonest dollar by shitting on my wallet - I only like 1km away and it took an hour"

A turn of phrase meant to insult either yourself or others for their foolishness or stupidity to the point of it seeming as if there brain is leaking out of their own skull, hence brain drain
