The phrase can be tracked as far as the year 1812s when the English told Americans that they are mean and need to give them thier land back. The Americans replied "I dont give a shit".

A new way to say you're going some place. The inspiration came from LeBron James, who announced his departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers on July 8, 2010, in front of a large TV audience by declaring, "I'm taking my talents to South Beach."
EXAMPLE 1:

JILL: Where are you going, Jack?

JACK: I'm taking my talents to the bar.

EXAMPLE 2:
