A calculated L results in realizing in the moment or after the fact that you were headed into a losing situation but realized it before it had even happened or you realize it to make yourself feel better about the situation.

You saw your crush walking with her friends and you don’t really feel like talking to her but you really want to talk to her but don’t want to come off as annoying. But then you realize you’ll see her tomorrow so you consider that a Calculated L.
