psp

Sony Computer Entertainment's Playstation Portable.

Designed as a multimedia device, it is one of the most powerful platforms available on the market. Well developed games boast near PS2-quality in graphics and sound, and gameplay is varied and entertaining. Supports MP4 and Mp3 video and audio formats, and displays JPEGs, GIFs, and TIIF files. Recent firmware updates allowed the use of a full web browser that uses the internal wireless ethernet card to run off of a 802.11b network. Often criticized to be fragile or plagued by low battery life. However, when running at optimal levels, conservative screen brightness and volume settings, underclocked processor, battery life is well within nominal parameters. Obviously, running with the volume and brightness maximized and the wireless card active will drain battery life much quicker, but it isn't nearly as bad as many authors have made it out to be. The real strength lies in the PSP's homebrew potential. While constantly policed by Sony in the form of prohibitive firmware updates, extremely bright and resourceful hackers such as Dark_Alex and Booster were/are able to thwart Sony's efforts. Homebrew allows one to run nonstandard programs ranging form custom firmwares that allow the psp to be used at its full potential, to hardware emulators allowing people to play SNES, and other older consoles. Homebrew allows people to really innovate and it shows what people can do when presented a powerful resource. PSP games can be extremely fun and innovative. Games such as Lumines or Loco Roco push the limits of what people can imagine, and others like Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops push the envelope in terms of graphics and playability. The PSP proves that innovation doesn't need a gimmick.
The PSP is the maligned creation of Sony.

I bought a PSP for 250 USD. It was worth every cent of it.

Prima: *Playing his PSP*

Secunda: "Hey that's pretty cool, those graphics look almost as if they were on a console!"

Prima: "Yeah, but it's not just graphics. I can do many things all in one package. Then with the work of extremely talented crackers and programmers, I can do much more!"

Tertia: "OMG!11 YUOR PSP SUXX0RZ!11 IT HAS NO BATTERY LIFE! LOL DISC READ ERROR!11 I'm going to go play a bad port of a N64 game. LOL, INNOVATIV!"

PSP

Piece of Shit Portable System.

Basically Sony is out for your money. They crammed a whole bunch of shit that you don't need or already have into one thing that lasts about 2 hours.

You can easily have a computer that plays, games, music, and a digital camera or a camera phone that takes pictures and it'll last much much longer. So why buy one? Ask yourself that, and get a DS!
Me: Look at that kid sitting in the cornor playing PSP all buy himself.
Friend: I can't believed he pissed his money on that piece of shit!
Me: Oh well let's get back to Metriod Prime Hunters Online with the Nintendo DS and Pwn some fools!

PSP

A Portable gaming machine made my Sony Computer Entertainment to go against the Nintendo DS. While some might say that the PSP has bad battery life and no touch screen, the great graphics can balance it out. In contrast, the Nintendo DS has great battery life and a touch screen, but it is missing the 3d quality of the PSP (When DS displays 3d graphics, it turns into a pixelated mess), along with the multimedia capabilities. Which machine you choose totally depends on your personality, while younger players might choose the DS, older console fans that prefer graphical quality will most likely go after the Sony Playstation Portable.
Wow! You bought a PSP? May I play with it tomorrow?

A beautiful handheld made by Sony. With a beautiful huge LCD screen. Does anything a computer can do (literally, you name it, it does it) Extreamly comfortable, good buttons UMDs flying out is just a exadurated rumor from the first PSP made. It is not over priced, DS is.
DS cost Nintendo: less than $50
PSP cost Sony: around $190
DS IS OVERPRICED NOT PSP!!!!

PSP

A high-tech portable device created by SONY, Inc that is similar to the PS2 but portable. Even though many Nintendo fan boys say it "sucks", it doesn't. Usually, they haven't even played the SONY PSP. The PSP didn't get a lot of sales because SONY doesn't want little children to play with the device and want the teenagers and adult's to use it. I mean seriously, who would want a DS that is played by 5 year olds, doesn't seem very mature. This device can play movies, music, and UMD (Universal Media Disc) format which holds extreme graphics and great gameplay. The UMD disc is almost impossible to get scratched due to the outside covering. The battery life lasts 5-8 hours; but you can charge it in an eletrical socket and a car adapter (Sold separately). You can also buy a USB port that can transfer files from/to your PSP. Overall, the PSP is a great device; so is Nintendo DS, but PSP wins the medal overall.
Jim: Hey!
Ashton: Did you bring your PSP?

PSP

Playstation Portable. Everyone wants one, don't lie. But since no one can afford one, they "hate" it. BTW, the battery life will last longer if you adjust the brightness. and Why the hell you want to play any handheld for 8 hrs. straight? Unless you have no life and want to be blind.
DS Fanboy: PSP is teh suck!!!
PSP owner: Whatever, I just bought it.
DS Fanboy: You are not a gamer!
PSP owner: Fine, here!
PSP owner gives it to DS fanboy and leaves
DS Fanboy: I don't want it!
10 secs later
DS/PSP Fanboy: OOOOOOO!!!!!!
