Aruba Syndrome

The inability to fully enjoy a vacation or scenic destination due to the absence of one's significant other. Commonly experienced by individuals who are in love.
"While on vacation alone, my hotel gave me a free upgrade to its best honeymoon suite with a full ocean view. Although it was beautiful, I couldn't truly enjoy it; instead, I only missed my boyfriend that much more. It was a classic case of Aruba Syndrome."

Verb: refers to a heated debate whereby a participant quickly becomes offended and retaliates in a personal/argumentative manner and the conversation quickly turns nasty.
Beverly: "In my opinion, I think prostitution is disgusting"
Violet: "Yes, but that's your opinion... I don't agree"
Beverly: "That's probably because you'll do anything for a free drink"
Violet: "At least I get attention from men, you ugly whore"

And so an argument progresses, i.e. an argubate.

etymology: When a mariachi or other band arrives to serenade a woman, perhaps she is unhappy to receive it, and begins to prepare a shower of kitchen or worse, toilet water. One musician notices and alerts the others, "Aguas!".
