Niki

As a nickname or form of: ♀ names Nicole/Nichole Nicolena/Nicolina Nicola Nikita Nicolette Nicoletta & a derivative of ♂ names Nicolas/Nichola (with spelling differences like: Niki Nikki Nicky/Nickie/Nikkee Nico/Niko Nick/Nik.) being commonly used today. Originally, the name was derived from the Latin form Nicholas in Greek French & English meaning "Victory of The People" or "People's Victory." It is associated also with Saint Nicholas or "Santa" with a further connotation of a 'giver of gifts,'/'he/she who brings what is needed." Yet, in some Francophonic dialects, Nik (pronouced 'NEEk' giving emphasis on the first portion of the one syllable) implies a sexual nature, & often, especially with Arabic in Lebanon, Palestine, Israel, Syria, and Djibouti, is a direct translation of the 'curse' word 'fuck.' To the extent that there may be those unwillingly to address a person by this name. *This is not a personal issue, as many people may feel, however. It is the equivalent of say a Devoutly Religious or merely very conservative person uncomfortable with a a name pronounced as Fukyu, MuthurFukker or Phuck/Phukk, (often the case with Thai names.) In Urban Culture, however, especially within America, and in particular to the eras of the 70s & 80s, the name Niki, of whatever spelling, was & sometimes, may still, be indicative of Prostitution having transformed toward a ♀ of low ethics/maturity/sexual virture. Such is the same with names such as Candy/Candi used instead of Candice.
