Referencing the incredible show "Severance" directed by Ben Stiller, created by Dan Erickson, starring Adam Scott. In the show severed workers get a voluntary medical procedure seperating their work memories from their personal (outside) memories.

A reference to the AppleTV+ show Severance, in which people's consciousnesses are split into 2 parts that do not share memories: at work they are "innies," and the rest of the time they are "outies."

In 2025 there was a Bluesky meme in the format "your outie does __." Basically, the joke is that you are at work and you're being told about your own personal life, who is a separate person.

Refers to the half of your artificially split personality that spends their time exclusively outside of work. As opposed to the innie which only spends their time at work.

Your outie buys new instead of buying second hand.
Your outie only posts on social media to impress people.
Your outie moves on from relationships without really giving them a chance.

The Outie

Pronounces "Oh-Tea"..The Outie refers to the act of having diarrea of the mouth. When people usually keep obscene or sexual thoughts to themselves, "The Outie" will blatently shout out what they are thinking in a monotnous tone very non-chalantly, especially if the conversation has nothing to do with what "The Outie" has just stated.

Jenny said she was failing calculus when "The Outie" said she had never had an orgasm and her vagina contractions are very strong, most guys have some sort of sexual dilema when we have sex...By the way I don't like dildos either, only masturbation by myself....And then Jenny puked!
