"unfortunate, tortured youth," often complain about their teen angst with not much consideration for anyone with any real-world issues or other people in general. "Scene kid" often coincides with wearing obscure band t-shirts (even if they've never heard them), dying and cutting one's hair more than once ever 2 weeks or so, playing in some obscure band that usually sucks (with an extremely random name), and wearing "outlandish" clothing to get attention. Often threaten to do stupid things for small amounts of money but really have no balls at all and are all talk. Usually fortunate suburban kids who feel they have something to express by going to "shows" and jumping on each other and making people feel less scene than they (calling others, ironically enough,"poseurs"), scene kids tend to hang out at the mall (probably near but not too near a hot topic), they're the kids wearing the Taking Back Sunday t-shirt to the TBS show, and they most definitely claim to have heard them first and might even know them personally, because it matters oh so much (!?). most scene kids probably don't really know who they are because they've spent so much time following the crowd of myspace users and spend more time trying to figure out if Warped Tour is still cool and taking pictures of themselves from angles than they have on job applications or learning anything relevant to "real life."
you? maybe not. look around. black cut up gloves? hair in face? tons of eye liner and lip gloss (guy or girl). Yeah, that's a scene kid. Laughing at you? YES it probably is. "I'm seriously going to punch those scene kids in the face."

Non-conforming conformists. Doesn't make much sense, but then neither does the entire 'movement.' Developed from the 'emofags' except, not as whiny; but still pussies when compared to goths, which is pretty bad. Identified by their tight fitting clothing, eye-covering bangs and often colored hair.
When questioned on their status they'll insist they are merely music enthusiasts; quick to brush off so called 'sell out bands' which they secretly listen to while biting their pillows.
The only saving grace to this of many myspace spawned groups is that 'scene-chicks' will often take extremely revealing mirror-pictures of themselves, but even then.

Typical scene kids conversation
-This band is so cool, I hope they never see any success so we don't have to label them sellouts.
-I agree, pass me my clove cigarettes.

it is unfair to say that scene kids are "gay" or other derogatory terms like that. they are not rude, as one might have said on here, well not as rude as any other person.
i know a few scene kids, and i can asure you they are as normal as you and me...they just look different.
a scene girls hair: has choppy (mostly black) hair. other colors mixed in are common, like hot pink, red, blonde. little girl bows, and bangs at an angle covering one eye.
clothes: are usually more diverse. black and brilliant colors (i suppose a lot like the hair).
slip on shoes (mostly checkered), or converse. black/ white studded belt. sometimes multiple belts.
make up: eye liner is a must BLACK EYELINER and lots of it. bright shades of eyeshoadow usually. sometimes stars on the face.
...that is the style of a scene girl, but the idea of being "scene" is usually knowing a lot about the local music scene. thus, the many band shirts and death grip on their ipod.
favoring unknown bands, and not wanting you to know about them, sayong they began some scene revolution style, and getting pissy when they are copied in makeup or anything, are annoying traits that most all scene kids carry. not to mention that almost everything they do is "hardXcore" and that YOU are always a poser, if you say you even like dinosaurs.
they must have a myspace, become picture whores, and
will.always.

Scene kids are the shit!
The guys wear: tight chick pants, tight band shirts, T.U.K. shoes sometimes, rite-aid slip-on shoes, sometimes eyeliner, they have black or bleach blonde hair, and bangs in their face
The girls wear: tapered pants, bright shirts, many layers of shirts, a lot of pearls, a lot of eyeliner, bright eyeshadow, T.U.K. shoes, ballet flats, mostly rite-aid slip-ons vans slip ons, little girl hair clips, long choppy bleach blonde hair, short black and bleach blonde hair, both with bangs that are in their face
and most often they dye and cut their own hair
They listen to the best music that they LIKE for real. They live for shows, local or not it doesn't matter they like the music they'll be there. And they love to mosh so be careful. They make up words and call everyone kid, they are in love with dinosaurs, robots, and ninjas, oh and myspace. They use cool words like rad. They are often vegetarian or vegan.
In their myspace pictures you can never see there face and their pictures are always photoshopped

You cannot give an example of wha a scene kid says they may dress similar and use some of the same words but they are all different

before i begin...i've noticed alot of mean and sarcastic people writing definitions for what a scene kid is and even tho they have gotten alot of it right(i.e tight pants, hair, obsessions w/myspace and dinosaurs,etc...)they all seem to think that we(yes, i am a scene girl) are a big secret club of assholes.and although we do have a tendancy to be an exculsive bunch i cant help but wonder if all you people who are dissing us have been hurt by the fact that their local group of scenesters has rejected their attempt to be included as part of the group, therefore causing said asshole to type up these kinds of definitions (here and on myspace) in jelous rage.
also i'd think that they are the same types who put up anti-scene groups and probably some anti-emo groups because these individuals usually cant tell the difference.

A large amount of people of both genders, usually from the age of 15-25. They are mostly found in the infamous website, Myspace.com but are also found in livejournal.com and vampirefreaks.com.
Scene kids or "scensters" most of the time aren't "assholes" or "douche bags". It is a 50/50 range when it comes to the personality of a scene person. They are human, just like you, with a personality that is just as unique as your own.
"Scene kids" usually are known for their teased hair or piercings. When honestly, scene kids often range when it comes to their style. A large amount of scene men and women tease their hair, some wear heavy amount of make up (mostly with the women, though.) and other usually stick with a certain clothes brand or style. Usually tight pants/low or v-neck tshirts/lots of jewlery. Scene kids are very creative and are very interesting people.
Scene kids are also very known to be very faithful to music and usually go to many shows. Not only for local bands but also for more mainstream bands. They often know the whole history of many bands and stay devoted fans of music. Not only music but with art and photography. Most scene kids are very great in art and have very amazing artistic skills in photoshop, microsoftpaint, or the open canvas itself. Other are very interested in photography and take many pictures with extremely good cameras (exp: The Minolta, a very good almost professional camera.)
Scene Kids are humans just like you and me and are very unique and range from person to person. It's just who you meet that will make up your mind about scenesters.
