2. A response to someone acting serious and/or angry.
1. "Do you wanna know how I got these scars? My father was a drinker, and a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not. One. Bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it; he turns to me, and he says, 'Why so serious?' He comes at me with the knife, 'Why so serious?' He sticks the blade in my mouth. 'Let's put a smile on that face!' And...Why so serious?"
2. Person 1: "Halo is the best game ever, and everything else sucks! No other game is as good as Halo!"
You: "Why so serious?"
Person 2: "You never do anything right, why do I always have to do things with you!?"
You: "Why so serious?"
phrase used to describe one who is chill, not necessarily cool as in 'hip to the hop' but more like, relaxed and chill. not too stoney, but to some extent.
Man, the guy who sits across from us at lunch, he's so chill right now.
I mean, I'm no doctor or anything, but I think I'm able to judge him on a thing like this. I mean, come on, look at him. He's so chill.
The phrase was used by King Theoden in the Lord of the Rings movie "The Two Towers" right before the major battle at Helms Deep. The phrase can be used to signify the start of a major or significant event.
Sometimes you have no way else to say it. You've thought about it and no matter how you say it, whatever wonderful vocabulary you can design to make sound of your heartfelt emotion for your respective angel, they will never quite grasp it.
For the lucky few, they get to say it and it will be received by a smiling lover but for the most, they can merely stare at the one they love, not say a word, and in their head simply whisper to them through their eyes "I love you so much" only to know it doesn't matter even if they do voice the phrase.
Scenario 1:
Them: "Yeah so I was just eating my dinner and then this *goes on to tell boring but somehow fascinating (what with your feelings and all) story which you ignore as you're too busy falling for their eyes all over again*
You: "Look, listen for a second, I need to tell you something, I love you so much"
Them: "Oh" *Insert own ending here*
Scenario 2:
Them: "Yeah so I was just eating my dinner and then this *goes on to tell boring but somehow fascinating (what with your feelings and all) story which you ignore as you're too busy falling for their eyes all over again*
You: *in your head* "I love you so much"
Them: *Goes on to tell story*
