Windows 3.1

An archaic operating system from the early 1990s.

Unlike modern PCs and MACs, it didn't have a START menu or toolbar; it had a program manager application. It was one of the first GUI Windows platforms, an upgrade of Windows 3.0.

3.1 was the first system I ever worked with, waaay back when I was four or five. 3.1 was a good machine, capable of handling any game from Reader Rabbit to the Oregon Trail (CD).
Then we upgraded to Windows 95, which had a better interface.

But Windows 3.1 will be dear to me forever, for it was my first computer OS ever.

Windows 98

I hate to tell you "asshats" this, but Windows 98 is actually a 16 and 32-bit hybrid system. It's basically Windows 95 with IE integrated into explorer.
It crashes alot, because it's an operating system designed to run 32-bit applications, but still runs on a 16-bit subsystem, namely DOS.
Alot of instabilities, however, aren't the cause of 'Doze itself, and are usually IRQ conflicts and/or lame, fagass applications (read: AOL) being installed by the user.
Ted: What a cockup this Windows 98 is.
Bill: You try doing something better with reused code, assclown.

Windows Live Movie Maker

A new version of Windows movie maker for the release of Windows. However, it's even crappier that the last version. It has much less functionablity, with the same frequency of crashes. It's even less easy to use, unless you're doing a slideshow with some song you have lying around on your computer, you're going to have difficulty working with it. The only thing going for it is that it supports a large number of video formats instead of just like two Windows developed formats.
When I saw Microsoft had developed a new video editor, Windows Live Movie Maker, I thought that it could be an improvement over the failure of the last version. HOW WRONG WAS I?

crappiest windows OS ever created. even win98 was better. it wasnt ready when micro$hit released it. also it uses the crappyass fat32 file system rather than the sexy NTFS that NT/2K/XP use.
