wait for it

An overused phrase intended to add a level of sarcastic suspense to a ― usually pointless ― event. Usually repeated at least twice in addition to dragging the words; especially "it" (waaiitt for itttt.... waaiitt for itttt....).

It used to be somewhat funny the first or second time you heard it. But anymore, there seems to be an abundance of people going out of there way to try to fit it in to their conversation, even when it doesn't fit. All of a sudden someone in the conversation will start saying, "wait for it... wait for it...," and you know it didn't belong in the conversation; they just wanted to use the phrase.

If you are going to use this phrase ― along with wearing a trucker hat and Heelies ― AT LEAST wait for a time in the conversation when it actually applies and is appropriate.
You and your friend are waiting for a call back from a hot girl from school.

You> When is she going to call?
Friend> Wait for it... wait for it...
Phone> *rings* ring ring ring ring ring... banana phone... *rings*

2. Being in a place or state of mind where nothing happens for a very long time.
Being in that room for hours-on-end, was a dead wait.

Wait-Boreding

The act of sitting patiently on your friend's boat while waiting for them to finish wake boarding so that you can get to the fun stuff that you originally came there for (drinking, inviting girls on the boat, cliff diving, floating in the water, etc...).
The party cove at the lake was fun last weekend. Unfortunately we didn't get there til late because we spent the first couple hours wait-boreding while John and his brother were taking turns riding their wake boards.

Wait, what?

When someone is talking so fast or talking about such nonsensical things you can’t understand that you just have to hold your hand up and say, wait, what? Also used as an expression of surprise.
Example 1:
Julie: OMIGOSH Jessica, the craaaaziest thing happened today ooh crayfish anywaaaay so yeah the absolutely most crazy thing yeah so Anna was like whaaat and I was like whaaat and Jordan was like what are you whaaating about and like-
Jessica: Wait, what?

Example 2:
Daughter: Hey, mom.
Mom: Hey. Your belly is kinda bloated. You ate a lot today, huh?
Daughter: Oh, actually, I’m pregnant. Did I not tell you?
Mom: Wait, what?
