trans girl
a girl who is trans
a casual umbrella term for any TMA trans person. more universally accepted than trans woman or trans feminine among non-binary people for some reason, maybe because of the presence of gender-neutral terms giiirl in gay culture and grrl in dyke culture.
preferable to MTF or AMAB because it signals the person's actual identity rather than reiterating mainstream society's perception of them

originally a transphobic term used by no homo bros and closeted chasers to signal to each other that someone was a trans girl, ie. "sure you want to buy her a drink? she's a trap iykwim." popular among star wars eggs who are masking around cis boy gamers by putting down their own fam.
long considered an untouchable pejorative among trans women bc of its relation to transbashing, the term was slowly reclaimed to be a sassy compliment from one trans girl to another: "shit grrl, you're such a trap." now fully reclaimed by trans women, as with fish, and being used to mean any trans girl regardless of her sexual appeal to straight men. often combined with a pun, ie. "bear trap" for someone who dates bears, or "booby trap" for someone with bounteous tits.

more commonly used to mean a TMA trans who is culturally / aesthetically a dyke, regardless of their specific sexuality (bi/pan/ace/etc). a more aggressive term than trans lesbian.

trains
intentional mis-spelling of trans, used internally among trans people. commonly: "trains pride" "trains girl" "trainsexual" etc.
from this time when ru paul once mistakenly posted an image of Train Landscape (a painting by Ellsworth Kelley) thinking that it was an image of the trans flag because it also has some pretty stripes. Train Landscape is quickly outstripping the Monica Helms trans flag design as the most popular representation of trans pride, mostly bc everyone hates on the pink-and-blue version for being so damn infantalizing.

1) a posi noun for a trans person, replacing the pejorative noun tranny.
useful linguistically where the more common adjective trans won't flow in your sentence. plural: "trans," bc none of this was confusing enough already. usually only used to refer to oneself, preceded by a single adjective, as a caption for a selfie (ie. "glam tran"); if used to refer to another person, it could be interpreted as a slur, which would defeat the purpose of making up new words to distance ourselves from ru paul.
2) a common Việt family name (Trần). 11% of all vietnamese trans are also Trầns.
