It’s a neologism invented by Lewis Carroll nearly 150 years ago and means Grumpy, crotchety, ill-tempered or as Carroll put it “uffish is a state of mind when the voice is gruffish, the manner roughish, and the temper huffish." Carroll invented the word and used it in the poem Jabberwocky which appears in the bookThrough The Looking Glass”. It’s still used occasionally in the South West of England.
He can be an uffish old sod at times.

unfashionably late

Derived from fashionably late.
To be unfashionably late is to have missed, and gone over the time period (between 5-15 minutes) where you are fashionably late. While being fashionably late is recognized by the host(s), being unfashionably late makes you seem rude.
"Tom was unfashionably late for my party, what a dick"

Describes a weak attempt or effort, or something that is lame. Relates to the term 'fist' -- see my meaning for that word.
