It was discovered that when a pregnant woman's urine was injected into a female rabbit, the hormonal difference would result in detectable changes in the rabbit's ovaries. Although this form of testing was always fatal to the rabbit, no matter what the results were, the public somehow got the misconception that only a positive result killed the rabbit.

The Rabbit of Zanzibar

A mysterious rabbit that only appears after one gets very, very high. It is scared by loud noises and if you've been fortunate enough to see the rabbit you must chase it, for it will lead you to the candy ship that will take you to the land of gumdrops. If you don't you've wasted a significant portion of your life. It runs very fast and sometimes disappears and reappears at random.

Paul: You mean you've never heard of The Rabbit of Zanzibar?
Mary: Don't you know he'll lead you to the candy ship that will take you to the land of gumdrops?
Paul: Go catch the rabbit, quick before it gets away!
Mary: Be quiet! Don't scare it!

"Go Down the Rabbit Hole"

An allusion to Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. To go "down the rabbit hole" is to enter a period of chaos or confusion. Can also be said when taking a hallucinogenic, as some suspect Carroll's novel was really about a drug trip.

School's starting up again, time to "Go Down the Rabbit Hole" once more.
