adj. Used to describe an individual who uses a phone for all purposes other than conversation (text, email, etc.).

My friend is so telephobic, she'll text through an entire conversation rather than use a telephone for its intended purpose!

Telephobia 

Fear of communicating long distance (not just on the phone).

This word has the greek prefix "tele" that means distant communication, and phobia, which means fear.

I don't like communicating over a long distance because I could embarrass myself because I don't know much about the other countries that they live in. I think I have telephobia.

Terminatrix Telephobia 

A phobia in which the person has a paralyzing fear of answering the phone believing that it may cause him/her to exit The Matrix.

This is one of the more recent phobias that has come to light, with an obvious connection to the Matrix movie trilogy.

In these films people from the real world are able to "jack in" to the Matrix a ficitonal simulated version of Earth as it once was. These people then exit the Matrix via ringing telephones that their "operators" send them to. It can only be assumed that said operators stream a code of some sort into the ringing phone that allows people to break connection with the Matrix.

People with this phobia may also innately be afraid of large underground cave orgies

I don't hangout with James anymore because I can never get him on the phone to make plans. Ever since he saw The Matrix he's been afflicted with Terminatrix Telephobia.

I don't think he likes the idea of a world where Keanu Reeves is seen as the last bastion of hope.

Telephonians 

The chipmunk-like creatures that live in the telephone wires and transfer the words from one receiver to the other. The "Static" as people call it, is the low hiss as a result of the Telephonians getting upset. Telephonians are not commonly recognized by others, as the government fears that PETA would try to intervene in the telephone system by calling this display of teamwork "Animal Abuse." Telephonians are believed to be direct descendents from Jesus, as they seem to have eternal life. No dead Telephonian has ever been sighted.

"Hey Jesus, say hi to the telephonians for me!"
