Telemarketing

Noun. Also known as telescams and cold calls. When a salesperson calls you unexpectantly and offers you something you don't want or need, such as double glazing.

In the US and Australia, telemarketing is restricted and policed. In the UK, it is less controlled, because otherwise it would clash with the free speech laws.

Telemarketing is the bain of most houseowners' existences, and will guarentee you a place in Hades if you ever get a job in a telemarketing company.

Telemarketing

Something where people who dropped out of high school can go and make money by making unwanted calls to people over the phone.
Telemarketing is the stupidest thing ever invented in the history of telephones.

telemarketing

Being the portmanteau of "Teletubbies" and "marketing", this term refers to the marketing of Teletubbies merchandises, e.g. dolls, towels, door mats, DVDs and Blu-Rays
Did you see all the Teletubbies stuff at the store? I guess that’s what they call telemarketing—cash in on nostalgia

I'm in Telemarketing

What a prostitute says she does for a living to someone she is trying to date. Hence the term "call girl" (She's really telemarketing that azz!)
Ryan: So what do you do for a living?
Krystall: Oh I'm in telemarketing.
Ryan: Wow! Miss independent! hehe! I'm wanna take you home to meet the parents!

(Later while on Facebook looking at Krystall's profile)
"Wow look at those stacks of Benjamin's all over her floor, she must make good money at that telemarketing job," Ryan thought to himself.

teleworketing

A regional variation of 'teleworking'. Working from home.
I prefer teleworketing where possible, since my company's office is 1 hour away in traffic.

The word 'flag' as pronounced by people with thick Belfast accents. The term is a perfect encapsulation of the disproportionate and overblown reaction to the removal of the Union Jack (as in 'de fleg') from above City Hall in Belfast. Where previously it had flown for 365 days per year, it is now flown on 17 designated days of the year - in line with many other British cities.

The event caused a portion of the Protestant community ('fleggers') to make international pricks of themselves as they proceeded to wreck the fucking place, claiming it was another erosion of a 'British' identity they perceive to have been under attack since the horrifying spectre of equality reared its head in Northern Ireland.

The word 'fleg' - and indeed 'fleggers' - fittingly describes a section of humanity unconcerned with knowledge, reality or the vagaries of the English language. Like America's tea-baggers they are ruled by instinct, fear and paranoia with a side dish of rampant bigotry and startling ignorance of the world around them.
"Wat de fuck like! The taigs got de fleg took down! Let's wreck de fuckin place! No surrender!"

"De fleg has been took down! Before ye know it there'll be a united Ireland! Attack Short Strand! God Save The Queen!"
