This word was made up for Chinese EFL students, created from the word anglicize when the students asked what making foreign adopted words like Chinese was. We looked it up and there was nothing. So I used the old word for China, Sino and added the suffix "ize" which imeans "to make like", and created a similar word to anglicize and francicize.. About 2019 I heard it used on the news in Canada, so it travelled after all. Here's to living languages.!
