A term used in the hit fromsoftware/Sony game BloodBorne. It is a major part of the lore even though Paleblood is undoubtedly one of the most mysterious elements in the entire lore of Bloodborne. It is referenced in a few moments, but never in a way that explicitly states what it is, what it does, or where it comes from.

When players finish creating their Origin, and after being administered blood by a Blood Minister, they awake in Iosefka's Clinic, in a room with a mere note that says:

"Seek Paleblood to transcend the hunt."

And so, regardless of its origin, utilities, or even the form it takes, Paleblood becomes the goal of the player. To transcend means to ascend or in the world it means to become a god or a Great One in the BB lore. Just like the moon presence, orphan of Kosm and many others. That when consuming 3 thirds of an umbilical cord, you will become a great one after killing the moon presence and after the final boss cinematic takes place.
Hunter: Hey I’m looking for this Paleblood stuff, have you heard of it?

Gilbert: Paleblood? If you’re looking for blood try the church.
Hunter: Thank you.

The grindset is a contemporary ideology of self-exploitation disguised as strength, deeply tied to the aesthetics of the “sigma male” and to new digital forms of patriarchy. It promotes the idea that human worth depends on productivity, economic success, absolute emotional control, and the ability to work endlessly, turning vulnerability, rest, community, and tenderness into signs of weakness. Beneath its rhetoric of discipline and power often lies a profound inability to relate healthily to pain, fragility, and human interdependence.
“That’s the grindset, brother. While weak men sleep and complain, sigma males stay disciplined, work in silence, suppress emotions, and build power while everyone else wastes time chasing comfort.”
