makerspace

The lastest babblespeak term for “entrepreneurs,” particularly those aspiring to becoming leaders in a tech field. Notable in that its users actually believe it conveys useful information to the external audience, as compared to other obviously made up terms such as “ideation.”
I hope to help enhance our entrepreneurship pathways, international opportunities, and makerspaces.

Makerspace Mindset

The attitude of an arrogant, dilettante craftsman - often a perpetual one.

Those who embody the Makerspace Mindset have little to no skills or abilities in the allied arts or trades, but believe they do, while producing only crude toys or prototypes. Computer-aided tools do most if not all of the work.

They often make things that are marginally functional, sloppy, and infantile, and are limited by near-absolute reliance on self-operating tools to produce the result (CAD/CAM, 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machining on "prosumer" tools, etc.). Many cannot even draw a sketch without the aid of a computer, and the computer may do most of the work.

Those with the Makerspace Mindset often have a very high opinion of their ideas and their skills, in spite of being essentially unable to function in the absence of a computer-aided environment.
"He's basically useless with his hands, but he thinks he's a craftsman; he has that "makerspace mindset", you know. Without CNC tools, he couldn't make a damn thing."

maker space

A place where anyone can come together and share their own knowledge and often use community tools, most commonly seen in the tech, hardware and hacking circles.
I'm going to head over to the maker space because they're having a workshop on how to use the new network equipment they got.

Mikespace

Used in reference to a person named Mike who uses Myspace all day long, even while he's at work. His love and obsession for Myspace is far too great for the mind to comprehend so an alternate universe is created and we call it Mikespace.

1. Mikespace can be used as a noun or a verb
Q. What is Mike doing?
A. "Oh he is Mikespacing again, has been for 2 hours!"

Q. Has anyone seen Mikespace?
A. "I think I saw Mikespace in the driveway throwing up."
