lillyversary

The modern tradition of making one’s anniversary a month long affair. In vivid contrast with a Joeniversary, instead of a cake and arse party, lillyversaries are a collection of smaller smart events carefully organised to cover a limited amount of one’s friends, family and acquaintances at a time. Usually accompanied with a useful guide and bronze, silver and gold tickets, in true literary fashion these smaller events are designed to offer an exposition, build up or rising action until the final climax when everyone finally wishes this Lilly a happy birthday. Sometimes there are a couple of tragic premature happy birthday wishes as people cannot stand the intense anticipation but this only adds to the narrative. Twists such as surprise parties are optional but a must, specially if every gift is made of chocolate.
Dude, it's Lillyversary this month!
I know, I just got the invites for brunch this Saturday, are you going?
Nah, apparently I’m cooking dinner for her next Friday and I got cinema tickets for the Friday after that.
Wow, Friday night events, you must be really close friends!
I don’t know man, you got Saturday night, that’s pretty up there too.

church hurt

church hurt is where you experience a degree of distance, pain, or judgement from your church community. Essentially, you are just unable to “find your place”. This is prevalent in the Christian community, but can be extended to other religions.
Now that I am an adult I am beginning to heal from the church hurt that was inflicted on me as a child.

Stealthie

when you're holding up your phone and making faces at it, as though you are taking a selfie, but you're really taking a picture of the person across from you or the wall or anything else that seems interesting but you don't want to be caught dead taking a picture of.

This action is often made more convincing by wiggling the eyebrows or opening the mouth, to pretend you're trying to get a Snapchat filter to work.
FRIEND A: "Did you just take a stealthie of me?"

FRIEND B (turning phone around): "no I was just using snapchat's new filter, see?"
