Similar to pssht or ugh, 'hrmp' is a sound used in conversation to display feelings of discontent, frustration, or disapproval.

It is commonly used as a response when a mere grunt may convey more information and emotion than a sentence.

Hrmp may be used in verbal conversation or in instant messaging. In either situation, 'hrmp' is not followed with a supporting sentence.

Rob: Hey, I thought you were supposed to message me last night?
Jamie: Oh shit.. I forgot.
Rob: Hrmp.
Jamie: Sorry :(

Characterised by, filled with, or otherwise demonstrating grumpiness or anger. Liable to say "hrmph". A hrmphy person may been seen with arms crossed, hands in pockets, or showing great discontent in some way.

Jack spilled coffee on himself this morning so he was hrmphy all day at work.

Noun: A rather round faced object, capable of odd squeamish noises, often placed in trunks.

Verb: To overcome such an illogical and hysterical change, that society overlooks the absurdity of the change, and accepts it.

Noun: Whatcha gonna do with all those Hrmphs? All those Hrmphs up in your trunk?
