It was started by neds, who seeked new words to add to their pointless and unfathomable spoken jargon and dialect, and it has gradually progressed to become a favourite word of the legendary 'Brig Boys Crew'.

The phrase "heedin a Shan" is commonly used in the north-east of Scotland, the term is basically the chavier way of saying "I'm not bothered" only used by minks/chavs!
