hallway friend 

Someone you know from one of your classes that you get along with, but arent really friends with. You would never hang out with them in public, but you dont mind talking to them in class and waving to them in the hallway when you see them. As shallow as this may sound, we all have at least one hallway friend.

Girl 1: Hey were going to the beach this weekend. Wanna come?

Girl 2: Fer sure.

Girl 1: You can invite your friend Jane if you want.

Girl 2: No way! I only know her because she was in my physics class. Shes just a hallway friend.

Hallway Hello Friend

Someone you know who isn't really your friend, but who you say hello to when you see them pass by. This term usually defines someone who you don't really know that well or who you don't really hang out with, but is someone who you would greet in passing.

Person 1: "Kelly Smith. Do you know her?"
Person 2: "Sorta. She was more of a hallway hello friend"

Halfway Friend 

Someone who is only your friend when they want to be. They only come around if they need something from you, but if they don't need you for anything, they act like they don't know you.

Michael only wants to hang out with me because all his other friends are busy. I haven't talked to his ass in 5 years. He's a fucking Halfway Friend.
