adjective/noun
A humorous and mildly derogatory term for a chess player with a rating below 1000 ELO (i.e., a three-figure rating). Refers to someone who still hangs pieces, blunders mates in 1, and thinks the Sicilian Dragon is a mythical creature. Used affectionately or as light banter in the chess community, especially when someone is getting destroyed by a titled player or a engine-prepped 12-year-old.
Origin: Blend of “three figure” (rating in the 100–999 range) + playful mispronunciation/spelling for maximum shitpost energy.
1. “Bro went on a 15-game losing streak and still calls himself an intermediate player. Nah, you’re a straight tree fig my guy.”
2. “I blundered my queen on move 8 against a 600-rated tree fig… I think it’s time to uninstall.”
3. “Only three figures would play 1. e4 e5 2. Qh5 and think they invented scholar’s mate.”
4. “He talked so much trash pre-game, then got absolutely farmed by a tree fig. The 900s are eating good today.”
Cooper, One of the most hot kids lives in that suburb. Figtree does not allow black niggers but if they fill out the form for black people they will be accepted. Cooper (also known as Coopche) rules the whole of Figtree. If you mess with him you will get located and nuked.
