emopunk is not the same thing as emo or punk it is a variation of both and so when people think that emopunk means wristslitting and punk music its not its wristslitting while listining to punk music not the same thing at all

a word used by smart people who realize that today's "emos" and "punks" are really the same fricken thing and they both suck and they all shop at hot topic as if that store isn't a mass-marketing capitalist consumer death-hole.

Emopunk

A tryhard genre of music generally inspired by both mid-2000s “emo” bands like My Chemical Romance or The All-American Rejects and actual good punk rock like NOFX, Rise Against, and the Kramps.

Emopunk music is also influenced by post-hardcore, alternative rock and grunge. Especially super mainstream bands like The Smashing Pumpkins or Nine Inch Nails.

I feel guilty for listening to so much emopunk on soundcloud. Aren’t emopunks posers?
