The auditory equivalent of “seeing something out of the corner of your eye.” A fleeting or imagined sound, ie: a whisper, knock, name being called, or music; usually
experienced when you’re
distracted, tired, or surrounded by
background noise.
I swear I heard someone say my name, but no one’s even home. I definitely heard something out of
the corner of the ear.
That ghosty noise? Just your
imagination catching something out of
the corner of the ear.
