doom loop 

A slang term used to describe when someone or something is plummeting and spiraling downward to the point of no return.

San Francisco has been recently noted to be entering what is seen by many as a “doom loop,” due to the high vacancy rates in offices and shops downtown post-COVID, increasing homelessness, open drug use, empty streets and rampant crime.

Doom Loop Exhaustion

Doom Loop Exhaustion (or DLE for short), is when a Doom Looper (someone who watches the same TV show on repeat) has exhausted a particular TV Series or Show to the point where classic jokes or moments don't barely muster a reaction out of them anymore.

Doom Loop Delay 

Doom Loop Delay (or DLD for short) is when a Doom Looper (someone who watches the same TV show over and over again) has been so entrenched in their Doom Loop, that they have become out of touch with current affairs & TV shows. Shows they haven't seen seem like they were released yesterday, although most non loopers have probably seen them already. There are varying degrees of DLD, from mild to severe.

Friend of Doom Looper; Yeah, that came out like 4 years ago? Did you only just see that?

Doom Looper 

Someone who relentlessly watches the same TV series or show over and over again on a "loop of doom" until they can recite the entire script off memory, whilst simultaneously claiming that all current TV offerings are sub-par and not worthy of their attention.

Perpetually checking for notifications/news/updates on ALL apps.

Doom scrolling through one app, then doing the same on another, then another, then another, then starting over and going through all the apps again and repeating the process until insane.

Doomloop

A cycle where economic conditions, domestic politics, and international geo-politics feed off each other in a negative way, resulting in fragmentation, instability, increasing inequity, and resentment; the doom loop gives people the sense that they must “blow up” existing systems in order to effect any real, positive change.

Both the United States and China are rejecting global organizations such as WHO and the United Nations as not beneficial to them. China, for instance, is leading emerging nations into new economic alliances, creating fragmentation in previously accepted international rules, and causing a doomloop of insecurity, instability, and increased potential for national conflicts.
