The annual St. Patrick's Day party at Colby College. Traditionally celebrated on the Saturday closest to St. Patrick's Day, students wake up at 4 am to drink green beer and other alcoholic beverages with their friends. Swallowing a live goldfish is also part of the tradition for some people. When the event was jeopardized by local police and school administrators in 2004, students rioted, causing over $20,000 in damage.
I'm so excited to drink for 24 hours straight on Doghead...I just hope I don't get written up by security.

doghouse roses

When you've fucked up and pissed of your wife/girlfriend or whomever, you go buy some expensive roses, shower, shave, and put on a clean shirt, and show up at the offended party's house or apt., with the appropriate hangdog expression and present her with said roses, and ask forgiveness, and try to convincingly promise never to do it again. If you're lucky and she's sweeter than your dogass deserves, she'll accept the roses, invite you in, and you'll have hot makeup sex. From a collection of short stories of the same name by musician Steve Earle.
Wife's sister: "You stupid piece of shit, you've really pissed her off this time. If she kicks your sorry ass out, you richly deserve it!
You: "I know, I know. Do you think she'll accept this expensive bottle of wine and bouquet of doghouse roses?
Wife's sister: "I wouldn't but she might."

In The Doghouse

Somewhere you don't want to be. When one's partner is displeased with them for one or more reasons (with the exception of women who can be pissed off with a man for no reason whatsoever).
I was in the doghouse yesterday for getting home late after work and missing the meal my wife made for us, so I bought her some flowers this morning.

fache-couture

French slang, which translated, means "bull's fashion" but basically equates to "hyper trendy" or overly trendy. Used when a person wishes to express distaste at the latest fashion trend/fad, because it seems that everyone has a certain item of clothing or is wearing it. This term is most frequently heard in Paris but is slowly spreading to other parts of France.

A slang term for GLP-1 medications(like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, etc.), usually referring to their appetite-killing, weight-loss, or “I forgot to eat” effects rather than the medical details.

Usage:
* Often casual, ironic, or meme-y
* Can imply effortless weight loss, suppressed hunger, or being “powered by pharmaceuticals”

Notes:
Not a brand name—just shorthand for the whole GLP-1 wave. Frequently shows up in online jokes, gym talk, and group chats where people pretend they’re *totally* doing it naturally.
