dating-down

Dating someone who is of lower caliber than you. Often done to hurt your ex.
Lowering their status as you lower yours.
After they broke up, Bill started dating-down with full figured women, when asked by friends, he stated you know I like big women. his ex who was size 8 went on a crash diet.

dating down

Dating someone of a much lower caliber than you have in the past or are worthy of.
Friend #1 - 'Wow! She left a Biochemist with a Ph.D and a six figure salary to date a drugged out, abusive, divorced waiter who can't keep a job!'

Friend #2 - 'Yeah, no kidding... She was REALLY dating down with him! Good thing she finally got it together and left that loser!'

dating down the food chain

Dating less and less desirable men or women as one ages.
Ever since I turned thirty, all I'm doing is dating down the food chain.

The grindset is a contemporary ideology of self-exploitation disguised as strength, deeply tied to the aesthetics of the “sigma male” and to new digital forms of patriarchy. It promotes the idea that human worth depends on productivity, economic success, absolute emotional control, and the ability to work endlessly, turning vulnerability, rest, community, and tenderness into signs of weakness. Beneath its rhetoric of discipline and power often lies a profound inability to relate healthily to pain, fragility, and human interdependence.
“That’s the grindset, brother. While weak men sleep and complain, sigma males stay disciplined, work in silence, suppress emotions, and build power while everyone else wastes time chasing comfort.”
