How can a star twinkle its way into the dark and can't shine a way out?
A question you know that is best opposed to herself and a question you might automatically say out of the blue when you are talking to her; if at some point you meet a distressed traumatized female with "Carol Anne" for a first name and "Star" as a last name; who has either had an abusive or a stressful past life and is always mean, angry, defensive, panicky, and holds a bizzare negative opinion in regards to nearly everything that brings us human beings together! Things like sex, dating, pregnancy, children, babies, love, marriage, kissing, and cuddling...

a darkout is a person who misteriously decides not to participtate in an event. They can only manage to provide justification in the form of such responses as "i don't feel like it" or "i can't be bothered". It has been found that darkouts are often a result of the subject harbouring agendas that they fear would induce ridicule.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
