Creeping up on the come up
To work yourself into the proximity of your desired subject with the sole purpose of shamelessly hitting on them. Said subject is usually aware of your stalking and may be seen rolling her eyes and muttering, Lord, he is creeping up on the come up AGAIN!'

Creepin on a pick up
When a friend creeps up to the girls you are picking up.
When a friend doesn't have the confidence to approach a group of girls at a bar/club, so he gets you to do the approach, and break the ice, then he comes up from nowhere, and you are forced to introduce him to the girls.
This way he has an excuse to introduce himself to the girls, this also makes him look cooler to the girls, even though he is just mooching of the my effort.
This works using a girl to do the approach too. Bring one of your female friends to the bar, and get her to spark a conversation with girl(s) and then creep up on it.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
