The act or habit of using the internet as a primary means of influencing public opinion on matters of politics, religion or other social concerns. Methods may include websites, online petitions and mass email campaigns.
Ex: More than ever young people are engaged in clicktivism as a convenient and sometimes powerful way to change public policy.

Clicktivist

A person who's only form of offering opinion on controversial world matters is through the use of online surveys and petitions, yet lacks the fortitude, intelligence, or ambition get out from in front of the computer.
John says he's for the environment, but the clicktivist sits on his ass emailing his congressman all day.

Activism performed by people who live to protest. It doesn't matter if they are supporting completely contradictory causes, they will be there in full costume defining their entire identity using the current cause they are supporting. See cracktivist.
That mob is supposed to be supporting the Longshoremens Union, but half of them are wearing fursuits and juggling molotov cocktails. Pretty sure it's cracktivism.
